Writing Recipe: A wandering soul deserves a focused mind

Ingredients: yourself, a notebook, something to write with and somewhere to be.

Prep Time: 5 minutes.

Instructions:

1. Make your space.
Headspace and open space belong together. Find a place outside, alone, where you can sit and observe your surroundings. It could be a national park, an outdoor cafe or the grass outside a supermarket parking lot. The important thing is that you’re outside and that you feel anonymous. You’re not interacting. You’re simply observing.

2. Collect your consciousness.
Close your eyes.
Loosen up your thoughts by listening to your breath. Breathe in through your nose, and out through your mouth.

3. Find your flow.
Open your eyes. Write:
What you see.
How it makes you feel.
Why you feel that way.

Repeat this exercise whenever you feel the need for focus and centering.
