Divine Flowers from Russia
In the old times almost every Russian village had its own painting style - flowers, plants and animals that decorated homeware in every house had unique features that were carefully preserved and passed down from generation to generation. Today GlobeIn invites you to learn about Northern Russian traditional painting and hand-weaving.

In the beginning of March Julie Terekhova, our country manager in Russia, presented GlobeIn at the annual weaving festival called “Evdokia Readings” in the Northern Russian village of Shenkursk. At the festival she met local weavers, painters, potters and knitters - some of these masters and their works are now on GlobeIn!

Impact Investing and Women Empowerment in Latin America
At the end of February GlobeIn took part at the third annual Latin American Impact Investment Forum (LAIIF 2013) organized by New Ventures Mexico that was held in Mérida, Mexico. With over 350 attendees, 100 speakers experienced in impact investing in Latin America and worldwide, many eager entrepreneurs pitching new ideas and businesses focused entirely on the region of Latin America, the conference was certainly a big event. Lauren Brown, GlobeIn business development manager in Latin America, hosted a GlobeIn presentation at the Forum.

Focused on connecting social entrepreneurs with investors, impact investing conferences are being held around the world, illustrating that impact investing has become the new investment trend. The term “Impact Investing” emerged in 2007. The Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) defines Impact Investing as “investments made into companies, organizations, and funds with the intention to generate measurable social and environmental impact alongside a financial return.”
